God is in a GOOD mood all the time!
I don’t know about you, but ever since I was a young believer, I was brought up thinking that after Adam and Eve sinned God was constantly angry with all of us.
I would hear preaches on God’s judgement and destruction of entire nations in the Old Testament. Even after Jesus dealt with sin on the cross in the New Testament, God was still very angry with us and, if we didn’t turn away from our sin, God would destroy us again. At any moment God could bring down judgement on an unsuspecting person, family, town, city or country, and we just had to accept it.
I have even heard pastors say that the reason one person is healed and not another person is all because God is unpredictable, and works in mysterious ways! That if you lose a loved one, especially a young child, it’s because God wants them back in Heaven to make His garden look pretty, and the reason God gave your child or family member a sickness was a way of bringing Him Glory!
I don’t know about you, but if God is like this, I would find Him very hard to trust, love and obey. I certainly wouldn’t want to call Him Father God.
Now, before you get all upset with me, let me explain where I am going with all this!
Right at the beginning of time, as soon as Adam and Eve sinned and separated themselves from Father God. Father God killed the first living thing on His planet to put clothing on His beloved children Adam and Eve. Father God didn’t kill Adam and Eve and start again, He wanted them to learn from their mistake and try again. Even though things had massively changed at this point, Father God only showed Adam and Eve love and grace.
All the way through the Old Testament, Father God was constantly trying to bless and look after the children of Israel. They were the ones who kept on going off and doing really bad stuff, yet Father God was the one who kept on repeatedly forgiving them and trying to get them back on track again.
There is so much grace shown to us in the Old Testament, it’s actually really embarrassing. It’s like the children of Israel just had really bad memories and had to be constantly reminded not to do bad stuff.
Now we get to the New Testament and the grace and mercy step up a massive notch. It’s like the equivalent of going from a push bike to a motorbike in terms of grace and mercy and love.
Let me explain:
When Jesus dies on that cross, everything changed. Sin and death were dealt with in one mighty blow. The devil was no longer lord of the earth because Jesus had taken back all the authority and power that Adam and Eve gave the devil. Jesus then gave anyone who believed in Him authority over the devil and his works. This literally meant it was finished, the old way of doing things had come to an end, the new had come. The new Jerusalem (mentioned in Revelation 21v2) had now come to earth. Jesus is now living in us. This is totally amazing and so powerful.
Even before Jesus dies on the cross, Jesus healed everyone! Not one person in the New Testament went away not being healed. Jesus never said, “sorry, healing obviously isn’t for you today” or “God must want your death to bring Him glory, that’s why He is not healing you!”.
So like me if you have ever believed this, slap yourself and apologise to Father God! Seriously, I feel so bad for ever thinking this way!
When Jesus died on that cross, He dealt with all our sin, ALL our sin! So, from Father God’s point of view, as soon as you say sorry for a sin, its dealt with, as if it never happened! So why on earth would we think that Father God is taking a tally of all our sins and then saying “Right that’s it, I have had it, its time for me to bring down judgement on you!”. The ownership is on us to say sorry, once that’s done, our record is wiped clean!
Now you might be thinking, well what about all the bad things that happen to people and to places in the world. Ok, let’s nip this one in the bud! The moment Adam and Eve decided to do what the devil said and not what God said, their god changed. Their god went from being Father God to being the devil. That meant that as Father God had given Adam and Eve the world to lord over and to take care off, Adam and Eve had just given all their authority over the world to the devil and made him their lord.
Now, we know from the Bible that the devil hates Gods creation including and especially us. The devil already knows his time is coming to an end. So he has made it his purpose to do as much damage to this world and to us as he possibly can. The devil is the one who wants to kill steal and destroy (John 10:10). It’s the devil that tries to put sickness on people and cause bad things to happen.
Now the good news is the moment you put your trust in Jesus and let him become your Lord again. You are no longer under the lordship of the devil. That doesn’t mean that the devil can’t try and have a go, it just means if he has a go, you can tell him where to go! (James 4:7-10)
One way of explaining what happens when you put your trust in Jesus is that you become a citizen of Heaven while still being a citizen of earth. You become a dual resident. You have all the benefits of being a citizen of Heaven, while still living on earth. This is and should be, a game changer.
You may have heard the saying “on earth as in Heaven” (Matthew 10v6). Well, if you think about it, as you are now citizens of Heaven, you are meant to have all of the benefits of Heaven here on earth. So, if there isn’t any sickness in Heaven, then there shouldn’t be any sickness on earth. If there is wealth, health and healing in Heaven, it should also be on earth. No, if’s or buts, if it’s already in Heaven then it can come to earth.
For far too long, we have been believing so many lies that some things just won’t change, that bad things happen and we just can’t do anything about it unless God decided He wants to get involved. That we just have to make the best of a bad situation. Wrong wrong wrong!
Its time we wake up and realise who we are and whos we are and start believing that everything, EVERYTHING is subject to the name of Jesus and everything can and must change!
One of the last things Jesus said before He ascended to Heaven was:
John 14:12-14 New Living Translation (NLT)
12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
This means we should (not might) experience the same results as Jesus when we pray for people to be healed, set free, delivered, raised from the dead, the list goes on and on and on. And even greater works than these!
Father God is in a very good mood, He loves you all the time, he is never disappointed in you because He has seen your life from start to finish even before you were born or before the world was even created. He just wants you to make the right and best decisions in your life! Choose to trust in Jesus, find out what Father God wants you to do in this world and get on with it! It couldn’t be any simpler.
So finally, why don’t some people experience the same results that Jesus did? Simply, it all comes down to our belief in Jesus. If we have more unbelief in our lives than belief, just like fear, it counteracts our faith. Smith Wigglesworth explains it so well when he said: “Believe, believe, only believe, all things are possible, just believe!”.
Even Jesus had to take the blind man out of a city full of unbelief in order for the blind man to receive his healing. So how much more do we need to protect ourselves from unbelief?
This puts the responsibility of seeing a healing actually happen down to us. Our responsibility, not Father Gods. Jesus has already done everything to enable the healing to happen. It says several times in the bible that by Jesus strips or wounds, we ARE healed, not might be or may be healed.
1 Peter 2:24 New Living Translation (NLT)
24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
This means we don’t need to beg Father God to heal us because it has already been done and dealt with.
So now that we know that Father God is in a good mood, that He loves us and wants the best for us. All we need to do is get ourselves into the word, read books and hear testimonies on other peoples miracles and drive all that unbelief out of our minds. This is why Paul says, renew your minds, for out of it flows the issues of life.
Romans 12:2 New Living Translation (NLT)
2 Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
As many of you may know Tra and I are on our own journey. We are believing Father God for some pretty big and amazing things. We have given up our home and have been living out of one bedroom in Tra’s mum’s house for the past three years, while we pray and believe for Wildback Farm and everyone who will come.
Personally we had some bad things happen to us during our marriage, but we know with every fibre of our beings that our Father God firstly didn’t send them and secondly our Father God always works all things together for Good, so if it isn’t yet good, then it simply means Father God hasn’t finished yet. We keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and we choose to trust Him in the bad times as well as in the good times.
Romans 8:28 New Living Translation (NLT)
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
We know we will fulfil the plan Father God has for us and we are so excited and looking forward to being able to help others find Father Gods plan and experience their own breakthroughs.
We have a good, good Father, He truly is in a good mood all the time.
